The Sea in Me is An Ocean of Grief by Janaki Wilkinson

Submerged I cannot catch my breath
I cannot see
I rise to the surface on the crest of a wave
and the white foam covers me

The flood from my tears fills the ocean
Then down to the sea floor I go
tumbling head over heels in millions of grains of sand 
I need help

Outstretched hands and arms reach for me 
I hold on and gasp for air
The cycle continues as I rise up and sink back down

But tethered now 
to a  life with incredible support, love and understanding.

I am the sea in me.
