Phillip Carrillo, Bereavement Trainee

Phillip Carrillo is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, currently serving as a bereavement counselor at Hospice of Santa Barbara, where he provides compassionate support primarily to adults navigating grief, loss, and emotional transition. Grounded in a person-centered approach, Phillip creates a therapeutic environment that prioritizes empathy, presence, and safety, enabling clients to explore and process their emotions at their own pace.

Currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, Phillip is deeply committed to being a steady and reliable presence for those facing some of life's most difficult challenges. He trusts in the profound impact of confronting grief head-on, providing clients with the opportunity to process, heal, and evolve as they navigate their experiences of loss.

When he's not in the therapy room, Phillip enjoys reading, traveling, spending quality time with friends, and exploring new culinary experiences.
