Katya Tashma-Rapp
Bereavement Trainee
Katya is a grief and bereavement counseling trainee at HSB. Facing grief is a process of reclaiming our most fundamental humanness and expanding our capacity to feel in a world that often denies it. She is honored to hold space for people as they navigate this process. Katya holds a B.A. from the University of California Santa Cruz in Creative Writing and Cultural Anthropology. She is currently pursuing her master’s in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, with an emphasis on somatic therapy and working within Latinx contexts. She is a certified 500-hour yoga teacher and has received training in mindfulness and embodied social justice. She hopes to expand our conceptualization of individual healing as a necessary step toward the healing of the world. Katya enjoys the expressive arts and being in nature, and sees them as ways of deepening her connection to the physical and spiritual worlds.
